Shooting of Upcoming Bengali Film Datta in Progress
The shooting of the upcoming Bengali film Datta is in progress in different parts of the city. A part of the shoot in Bolpur was also done recently by the team.
The film is based on a story by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. The eminent Bengali author wrote the story about hundred years ago. Ajoy Kar made this story in a film in 1976 with Suchitra Sen, Soumitra Chatterjee in pivotal roles. This time the task has been taken up by Nirmal Chakravarty.
The script is by Sumitro Banerjee. The film stars Rituparna Sengupta (Bijaya), Joy Sengupta (Naren), Ferdous (Bilas), Biswajit Chakraborty, Devlina Kumar in pivotal roles.
The DOP is Mrinmoy Mondal, Art director is Samrat Chanda, Executive Producers are Sharmistha Mukherjee and Anindyo Sengupta.
The film is presented by Bhavna Aaj o kal and the director of the film is Nirmal Chakravarty, who has known Rituparna Sengupta for a long time. This is his debut film.
The costume designer of the film is Saborni Das.
While comparisons with the yesteryear film will happen, it will be interesting to see how the director and his team present Datta to the audience in today’s times.
