“Happy Valentine’s Day as is evident from the name is a love story. But what kind of a love story is this is the main question. Is this a conventionally romantic story or is it something different? This is what the audience will find out after they watch this short film on Platform8” said Rwitobrata Mukherjee.

The story of the short film revolves around Sunny and an escort. Sunny meant to have an erotic night with the escort. It becomes an unlikely tale where the reality is revealed and the future of the characters is unforeseen.

“I have worked with Rwitobrata after such a long time. We have a strong friendship and that gets reflected in our work. I hope we can work again on more films and series. I knew the director for a long time and it has been an absolute privilege to feature in his short film” said Surangana.

Happy Valentine’s Day is directed by Abhinandan Dutta. The cast of the short film consists of Rwitobrata Mukherjee (Sunny) and Surangana Bandopadhyay (an escort).

Rwitobrata said, “I had worked with the director before too. However this is a different character and I hope that the audience loves the short film as much as we liked working on it”.

The concept and story are also by Abhinandan Dutta.

The music has been composed by Mayukh-Mainak and the singers are Surangana Bandopadhyay and Aajan Mahalanabish. “I got a chance to sing a Rabindrasangeet in the film. Music is my first love and I come from a musical family. So whenever I get the chance to sing, I am super excited” said Suranagana.

The film is produced by Roll Camera Action Production.

Surangana also hoped that if the short film received positive feedback, the makers should consider making sequels of it.

Happy Valentine’s Day will stream on Platform8 from 14^th February.
