Shotyi Bole Shotyi Kichhu Nei’s star-studded trailer launch took place at Town Hall, Kolkata. Gracing the occasion were director Srijit Mukherji, Kaushik Ganguly, Parambrata Chatterjee, Kaushik Sen, Rahul Banerjee, Ananya Chatterjee, Sauraseni Maitra, Kanchan Mullick, Ritwick Chakraborty, Arjun Chakrabarty, Suhotra Mukhopadhyay and others.

The plot delves into the gripping drama of a murder trial and is adapted from the renowned play and movie Ek Ruka Hua Faisla. As the story takes unexpected twists, the trailer promises an exciting exploration of justice, morality, prejudice, redemption, truth, and revenge while hinting at a contentious discussion.

Speaking at the trailer launch, the director said “This is my dream project and I have read the script to late Rituparno Ghosh. The role that Parambrata is playing in this film was initially offered to him. The original play has been broken down and restructured. So that answers the question of what new I am offering through this film”.

Kaushik Sen said “Like in theatre, we had to do rehearsals before the shoot. Initially, I was irritated with it. However, later we were all well prepared before the shoot of the scene. That helped a lot as most scenes had 12 actors. It was quite a daunting task”.

Ananya Chatterjee expressed her gratitude to the director for creating female characters in the film. The original play did not have any female characters and she was glad to be a part of such an amazing film.

For Sauraseni Maitra, this film was a great acting class for her. “To act opposite such talented actors was like a masterclass for me. And to get a chance to act in a Srijit Mukherji film is an awesome experience. I had a gala time” said the actress.

Kanchan Mullick highlighted the stress and problems that the whole team of actors had to face while shooting the film. “We used to go as our original selves during the shoot by the sea. However, when we came back at the end of the day, we used to look like someone else. This was one different experience for all of us” added the actor.

Kaushik Ganguly was elated that two of the films that he has acted in will be released on the same day. The other film that will be released on the same day is Binodiini. “We all stayed on the sets even when our shot was over. We used to engage in healthy conversations in between shots. There was also a bit of fun too. Hence, despite the hiccups of shooting by the sea, we had a great time” said Kaushik Ganguly.

Phalguni Chatterjee, Anirban Chakrabarti, Kaushik Kar, and Noor Islam will be seen in pivotal roles in the film.

The film is produced by SVF.

The film is slated for release on 23^rd January.
