Naam Sidhu Padabi Cactus was a concert organized to celebrate the 50th birthday of rock star Sidhu at Satyajit Ray Auditorium (ICCR). The musical event was organized by his fan circle “Love you Sidhu Da (LUSD).

To make the occasion more special two new singles of Sidhu was released on that day- “Obak Chaal” the lyrics and music of which has been composed by Sidhu himself under the series Aprokashito 2. The other was “Aalor Gaan”. The lyrics are by Abhijit Paul, the music is by Arghyakamal Chatterjee.

Sidhu performed his favorite songs like Keno Emon Hoy, Eso Bandhu followed by songs with Cactus like Shohore Aaj Birsti, Halud Pakhi, Tabuo Thik Achhe. Some of the special artistes who presented songs were Usha Uthup ( Kolkata, Kolkata ), Upal Sengupta, Pota ( Kalankini Radha ) Kaushik Chakraborty ( Prithibi ) and so on.

Sidhu left his dream profession of a doctor to pursue his career in music. They formed Cactus and offered a new genre in Bengali music scenario. Songs like Halud Pakhi is a household name nowadays. Sidhu tried his luck in acting, presenting quiz shows as quiz master, presenter of musical game show and so on.

The celebration was graced by the august presence of Usha Utthup, Lagnojita, Pota and so on. Underprivileged children from the group Save The Children also joined the celebration and performed with Sidhu.
