Silent Rally By Team Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti To Protest Against Social Injustices
A silent rally was organized by the team of the Bengali film Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti to throw light on the injustices that exists in our society based on the sex of an individual.
The rally began from Priya Cinema continued to Rashbehari, then went to Tridhara Club and ended at Motilal Nehru Road.
The thirty minutes walk saw the presence of Ritabhari Chakraborty, Soham Majumdar, Soma Chakraborty among others.
Speaking at the event, Ritabhari said “Why will there be discrimination between a man and a woman and why will only Brahmin men perform pujas? You are given life by your mother and even then a woman’s body is considered impure just because she has periods? What kind of hypocrisy is this? This walk is to raise awareness and to protest against such injustices prevalent in our society”.
Soma Chakraborty who is a mother herself mentioned how she had decided not to perform Kanyadaan whenever her daughter will get married.
Soham Majumder threw light on the fact that the huge gathering of men and women at the rally showed that the society was changing and people were ready to accept changes.
The film is eyeing for release on 6th March and has already been able to garner great response from the audience.
