To celebrate the grand opening of their brand-new, exclusive retail bakery, Sobisco Fresh, in Kankurgachi, Kolkata, Sona Biscuits Ltd. organized a special afternoon. The event demonstrated the brand’s dedication to quality and innovation in the bakery sector while introducing guests and media to the delectable flavours of premium baking.

In addition to the full line of packaged biscuits and cakes under the Sobisco brand, the recently opened Sobisco Fresh bakery chain, which is situated at Shyam Kunj, P-30/2, CIT road, offers a variety of freshly baked cakes, pastries, and savoury items like puffs and patties.

Visitors were given the opportunity to taste the warmth and flavour that Sobisco adds to its products during the launch event, which also featured an exclusive food tasting session.

Known for emphasising wholesome goodness, Sobisco started more than 20 years ago. Although the brand has established a strong presence in rural India, it is currently actively entering urban and metro markets through partnerships with regional stores like Arambagh and Apna Mart as well as major retail chains like Reliance, Spencer’s, and Metro. Swiggy, Instamart, and other platforms now offer Sobisco products due to the increasing demand in the quick commerce space.

To establish a strong local presence, the company launched Sobisco Fresh as a new brand identity as part of its 2024 retail expansion plan. The company currently operates nine exclusive bakery chains in Kolkata and the surrounding area. It now plans to expand into other major West Bengal cities as well as neighbouring states.
