“Social media sites like Facebook and Instagram have made a positive impact on my life. I posted a picture wearing a sunglass of my friend on Facebook. I got a call from the director who told me that I will suit a role in his film, and that is how I became part of Neetishastra” said Iman Chakraborty at the press conference of Neetishastra at 28^th KIFF.

The singer-actor was present along with director Arunava Khasnobis, music directors Nilanjan Ghosh, Chirantan Banerjee, and others at the press conference.

The film is an anthology film. The different stories deal with the inner conflict that human beings face around justice, ethics, morality, and death.

Chirantan Banerjee said “There are different soundscapes for the film as there are four different stories. The director has an inclination for international soundscape and that the spectrum should be different. So I had to keep this in mind while doing the music for this film”.

When questioned whether Iman will be seen acting more in films or singing, she said “Singing will always be my first priority. However, if I get a good role that is suitable for me and I like it, I will do that. But I will not do any role that will jeopardize the singing career that I have painstakingly built over the course of so many years”.

Iman also added that singers also have to act with their voices. Hence there is a latent actor in all singers.

The producers of the film are Premasis Mukherjee and Abhijit Kumar Das.

The cinematography has been done by Ratnajit Roy.

The cast of the film consists of Iman Chakraborty, Bidipta Chakraborty, Sudipta Chakraborty, Rajatava Dutta, Rwitobroto Mukherjee, Shantilal Mukherjee, Rafiath Rashid Mithila, Basabdutta Chatterjee.

The film has been selected under the Bengali Panorama section.
