Soumitra Chatterjee’s Inaugural Speech on Little Magazines, Big Ideas at 7th Kolkata Literature Festival
The inaugural speech at the 7th Kolkata Literature Festival was given by thespian actor Soumitra Chatterjee.
The actor addressed the audience and shed light on the topic of Little Magazines, Big Ideas.
Soumitra Chatterjee co-edited one of the most prominent little magazines Ekhon from 1961 to 1979 with his college friend Nirmalya Acharya. Soumitra Chatterjee’s mentor was Satyajit Ray and he named the magazine. He also designed the inaugural cover page.
The archival issues of the magazine are now regarded as collectors’ items.
