Spain As Focus Country In 29th KIFF
Minister Aroop Biswas, and chief advisor, KIFF, Raj Chakraborty, Chairman, KIFF, Mimi Chakraborty, June Maliah, Chiranjit Chakraborty, Arindam Sil, Gautam Ghose, minister Birbaha Hansda and Santanu Basu, DG, KIFF and Secretary, I&CA department and others graced the press conference of 29th KIFF.
KIFF is accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers’ Association or FIAPF.
The Bengali Panorama section has 7 films and will showcase a competitive format for the first time.
Centenaries of Lindsay Anderson, Richard Attenborough, Charlton Heston, Ousmane Sembene, Mrinal Sen, Dev Anand, Mukesh, and Shailendra will be organized at the festival.
Spain is the focus country and Australia is the special focus nation at the 29th KIFF.
A retrospective of the Russian maestro Pavel Lungin will also be organized at the film festival.
Arijit Singh has sung the title track of the 29th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) for the first time. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has done the punch line, and the lyrics have been penned by lyricist Srijato. Indradeep Dasgupta composed the music for this title song.
The 29th KIFF will start on 5th December and will show 72 feature films and 50 short documentaries in the competition category, and 97 films in the competition section.
The festival will continue in 23 venues in Kolkata. 219 films from 39 countries will be screened at KIFF.
KIFF will continue till 12th December.
