May 30^th is a day of great loss for the Indian filmmaking scene. On this day, eminent Bengali filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh left for the heavenly abode. He was held in high esteem in the film fraternity for his path-breaking and thought-provoking films.

To commemorate his life and art, SPCkraft, an interdisciplinary art collective, has come forward to open a digital arts project, “Chironton Ritu” on May 30th at 9 pm on the Facebook page of the collective.

Readings from his writings, stills of his films, and of course memory bytes of a few luminaries shall sum up this memorial designed by the members of the collective.

The event shall feature actor Indroneil Sengupta, veteran music composer Debojyoti Mishra, vocalist Shubhamita Banerjee, and Rupankar Bagchi, and actor Sumantra Mukherjee sharing their stories of association with Rituparno Ghosh apart from other artistic performances.

Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee, the brain behind SPCkraft said that this is a homage to the filmmaker who wrote new rules for the box office and also changed the idea of gender in films.
