Special Camp For Cervical Cancer Vaccinations For Young Girls
One hundred impoverished girls received cervical cancer vaccinations at the Children’s Welfare Association High School for Girls in Taalpukur thanks to a program organized by the Rotary Club of Calcutta Avyanna and the Cancer Foundation of India. The goal of the camp was to shield young girls from an illness that continues to be the top cause of cancer-related fatalities in India’s female population.
One dose of the cervical cancer vaccine was given out during the occasion, providing these young girls with a crucial defense against the crippling symptoms of the illness. The program ensures that young girls can lead healthy lives and closes the gap in cervical cancer prevention for the less fortunate. This camp demonstrated the Rotary Club of Calcutta Avyanna’s continuous commitment to women’s empowerment, education, and well-being.
“We believe that by taking proactive steps towards cancer prevention, we are protecting individual lives and shaping a brighter future for the entire community. This immunization program is a component of our larger initiative to build a future free from cancer” said Chandreyi Mitra, President of the Rotary Club of Calcutta Avyanna.
A noble initiative indeed.
