Lata Mangeshkar also known fondly as the Nightingale of India breathed her last at the age of 92 on 6^th February 2022. To pay homage to her, a special cover “On Remembering Lata Mangeshkar” was released at the Rotunda of Kolkata GPO.

The event was graced by J. Charukesi, the Chief Postmaster General, West Bengal Circle, Niraj Kumar, Postmaster General, Kolkata Region, director Goutam Ghose, singer Antara Chowdhury, director of Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers Rupak Saha and Arpita Saha.

Speaking at the occasion, Goutam Ghose said that the immense contribution of Lata Mangeshkar cannot be expressed in a few words. “She is an idol and inspiration for many artists. She has recorded songs in 36 Indian languages which is a huge achievement for any artist. The body of work that she has left behind is an asset for our country and will be a great resource for singers in the coming times” said the director.

Ananya Chowdhury also expressed her gratitude to be present at such an event that was honoring the late legendary singer. She further added that through her works, Lata Mangeshkar will live on for years to come.
