A special preview of Byomkesh Season 5 was organized at Saturday Club. This is Hoichoi’s 50^th Original and the event was attended by the cast and crew of Byomkesh consisting of director Soumik Halder, Ridhima Ghosh, Anirban Bhattacharya, Suprobhat Das and others.

The fifth season of Byomkesh is based on Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay’s two stories namely ‘Dushtochakra’ and ‘Khnuji Khnuji Nari’.

“Two stories of Byomkesh have been clubbed in this season with The Great Bengal Famine of 1770 as the backdrop. This is a special season of Byomkesh and I have thoroughly enjoyed working in this season. We have already done four seasons of Byomkesh and people have loved it. Let’s see how they like this season” said Ridhima Ghosh who plays Satyabati in the series.

The look of Byomkesh in the fifth season consists of stubble and short hair. This has received both appreciation and criticism from the audience. “Soumik da who is our director wanted this look of Byomkesh so that he looked very different from what we usually visualize Byomkesh as. The audience reaction has been positive and I am hoping that the audience will love this season as well” said Anirban.

Suprobhat Das will be seen as Ajit and he is the only cast who have been changed from the earlier season. The actor praised the director and he urged the audience to watch the series.
