Special Screening Of Parama Organized In Kolkata
Inox South City hosted a special screening of “Parama” (A Journey with Aparna Sen), which was organized by the Prabha Khaitan Foundation.
The film is directed by Suman Ghosh. The focus of this movie is the talented actress and director Aparna Sen. The artist’s origins are traced in this documentary. It examines her work as an activist, magazine editor, performer, and filmmaker.
“Thank you to the Prabha Khaitan Foundation for this arrangement. I never imagined that I would be the focus of a movie. I was shocked to think about Suman. After many years, I went back to all of my filming sites for this movie. Seeing how many people responded to today’s screening of the film is excellent” said Aparna Sen.
Director Suman Ghosh said, “Sandeep Bhutoria has been a friend of mine for a long time and has always offered assistance. It is inconceivable how much the Prabha Khaitan Foundation has contributed to Indian culture and the arts, not only in Kolkata. My film Basu Parivar featured Aparna Sen as an actor. I had numerous conversations after that. I sense her depth. She worked as a journalist in addition to being an actress and director. These folks seem to be vanishing these days”.
“I made Amartya Sen’s first documentary. I enjoy getting to know these world-class Bengalis. Why are they considered world elites? What, in my opinion, is missing from our generation that another Parama could not be found? That is where my film’s adventure begins” said the director.
Churni Ganguly, Kaushik Ganguly, Sohag Sen, Parambrata Chatterjee, Kalyan Roy, Rituparna Sengupta, Rajatav Dutta, Indranil Sengupta, Tanushree Shankar, Sujoy Prasad Chatterjee, Subodh Sarkar and other eminent personalities graced the special screening of Parama.
