The press conference and special screening of the award-winning short film 50^th Anniversary (Taste of Love) directed by Tamal Dasgupta and the award-winning documentary Nirbaak directed by Om Chanda took place at Nandan.

Sudip Mukherjee, Kalyan Sen Borat, Alokananda Roy, Ishan Mazumdar, and others graced the occasion along with the directors and cast of the film.

The documentary film Nirbaak revolves around street dogs. How they are treated, their struggle for existence, and their way of life all are shown in this film. The film aims to prevent the abuse of street dogs and to implement a strict law for them.

The film has been awarded a Special Mention at the 12^th Dada Shaheb Phalke Film Festival 2022.

The duration of the film is 43 minutes. The script is by Partha Dutta and Paulami Majumdar. The music has been composed by Dipanshu Lodh.

Sudip Mukherjee, Shantilal Mukherjee, Debleena Dutt, Silajit Majumdar, and Tamal Dasgupta will be seen in special appearances in this documentary.

The short film 50^th Anniversary is about the alienation of the elderly in today’s society. Their children have to move away from their homes in search of their livelihood. What happens to the senior citizens as a result of this? What agonies do they have?

The cast of the film consists of Asit Base, Alokananda Roy Banerjee, Ishan Mazumdar, Koushik Chakraborty, Ashok Ranjan Dutta, and others.

Alokananda Roy Banerjee said, “He knows what he wants from the actors. This was a different story and I am one of the leads in the film. There is a great scope for acting and I was glad to be a part of this film”.

The story and script are by Tamal Dasgupta.

The duration of the film is 38 minutes and 18 seconds.

The short film 50^th Anniversary has been screened at festivals like Jaipur International Film Festival 2022, Paradox International Short Film Festival 2021, Tokyo International Short Film Festival 2021, New Wave Short Film Festival 2021, and others.
