The festive season is just around the corner and many underprivileged individuals cannot afford a proper dress or shoe to wear during the season. Even if they are given a dress, they do not get a shoe. To address this situation, Khadim’s undertook a unique initiative titled #LetsTakeAStep in association with Hope Kolkata Foundation and Rotary Club of Calcutta Innercity with the help of which they gave shoes to underprivileged people.

The campaign culminated with Khadim’s distributing the shoes to the individuals. The event was graced by actress Srabanti Chatterjee, Amit Gope (Head Marketing, Khadim India Ltd) and Geeta Venkadakrishnan (Director, Hope Kolkata Foundation).

There are thousands of people in Kolkata who walk barefoot in rain, heat and cold and hence they contract various diseases and infections.

The campaign urged the people to donate their old shoes in wearable state at select stores of Khadim’s.

Over 2259 shoes were collected from the campaign which was conducted month long. For every 2 pair of shoes, Khadim’s donated a new pair.

Speaking at the event, Srabanti said that she was proud to be associated with such an initiative and hoped that this will be continued in the future so that more people could benefit from it.

Khadim’s will continue with this initiative in the long run in other cities too so that underprivileged people can wear shoes and do not become victims of diseases.
