A star-studded premiere of the Bengali film Tangra Blues took place recently at a multiplex in Kolkata.

National Award-winning filmmaker Supriyo Sen’s film Tangra Blues stars Parambrata Chatterjee and Madhumita.

Parambrata and Madhumita will be seen pairing for the first time in this film.

‘Tangra Blues’ shows the musical culture of one of Kolkata’s most renowned slums- Tangra.

This is the first film ever made in Bengal that upholds the aspirations and struggles of the slum dwellers.

The film is inspired by the lives and struggles of Sanjay Mondol & Group, Kolkata’s one of the most popular waste Band groups, originally belonging to Tangra who went on to become a runner-up in India’s Got Talent, 2010.

Director Supriyo Sen said that the film will show music in a different way. It will also throw light on the raw talent found on the streets of Kolkata.

 The film released on 15^th April, Poila Boisakh.
