Suman Maitra’s Next Film Shimanto To Show Human Trafficking From Unusual Viewpoint
The pandemic might have dampened our spirits. But the entertainment industry is taking one step at a time to regain its momentum. In the midst of this grave time, director Suman Maitra announced his next feature film “Shimanto”. The film is presented by SSR Cinemas Pvt Ltd in association with Chirosqro Films. The film will be produced by Ratan Saha and Satadeep Saha.
An elite team of the Intelligence Bureau strives to detect and eliminate a nexus of crime leading a potentially lethal operation in Kolkata and along the India Bangladesh border lines.
The cast of the film consists of Payel Sarkar, Rahul Arunoday Banerjee, Shaheb Bhattacherjee, Rano Joy, Sudip Mukherjee, Hrishie Raj, Ananda Choudhuri, Sonia Roy, Sushil Sikaria, and Dhruba Debnath.
The music of the film is by Bappaditya Subhro while the sound design is by Tirthankar Majumdar. The DOP of the film is Smriti.
According to the director, the film will show human trafficking from an unusual viewpoint. The on-road thriller will recall the innocent victims in No Man’s Land.
