Tahader Katha- A Wonderful Mix Of Realism And Surrealism
With his first film, aspiring director Subrata Ghosh took a risk by utilizing a very original plot. Tahader Katha is dedicated to all writers, whether they are well-known or not, well-liked or not. Tahader Katha translates to “About Them”. The director wishes to discuss writers who are not well-known or well-liked but who constantly want to express their stories.
The creative industry has so much unpredictability that a talented writer could remain undiscovered for all time. Because their stories are not being read, readers are not getting to know the characters in the novels, which leads to their deaths. The most depressing aspect of being a well-known and accomplished writer is the incredible journey that not many artists can experience. Such an immense and agonizing fight takes away great characters and amazing storylines! During the script reading sessions, the entire unit was captivated, and the visual variation of the multi-layered characters and plot would undoubtedly cause a stir in the otherwise stagnant atmosphere.
The director believes that this is a very pertinent story to tell society in this age of technology. Reading habits are nearly nonexistent these days; many purchase books only to put them on display in their houses but never actually read them. Regretfully, this means that many writers—many of whom we are unaware of—are struggling to make ends meet.
Who better to bring the powerful and challenging making to life than a master craftsman like Subrata? The characters in the film are incredibly complex, and each one will captivate us with their role in the narrative!
Very soon, the narration will be shot in and around Kolkata for the entire narrative. The pre-production just got completed.
Tahader Katha is a blend of realism and surrealism in which we meet every character from the author’s numerous writings. As you can see, something exceptional is undoubtedly on its way. Through the characters, the director will transport us to several eras.
Tahader Katha comprises an ensemble cast playing characters like Rafiqul (Rishav Basu), Anaal (Anindya Sengupta), Srinath (Krishnendu Dewanji), Priyanka (Debutant Trisha Das), Susmita (Rajnandini Paul), Buro (Deepak Halder), Debranjan (Amit Saha), Bhadra Basu, Biswanath Basu and Arindol Bagchi.
