From March 22 to March 28, 2025, YAYAvar at the Hyatt Centric Ballygunge Kolkata is pleased to present the Rural Bangla Food Festival, a week-long culinary adventure that honors the essence of Bengal’s rustic kitchens. This festival offers flavors that have been handed down through the generations, bringing an authentic taste of tradition from the heart of rural Bangla to your plate. The event, which is organized by Chef Sougata Halder, a skilled chef from Murshidabad, is a reflection of his lifelong passion for traditional Bengali food and his steadfast dedication to preserving the character of Bengal’s villages.

This festival revives long-forgotten recipes, traditional cooking methods, and the cozy scents of rural kitchens, all inspired by the classic flavors of Bengal’s countryside. Every dish is prepared using ingredients that are sourced locally and traditional techniques, guaranteeing a genuine and endearing experience.

The carefully chosen menu offers a fine assortment of Bengali specialties and is available as a set menu, at a dinner buffet counter, and during their Sunday brunch.

The dishes on offer are Kolmir Saag, Begun  Pora, Posto Bora, Bengali Fried Rice, Lau Ghonto, Bati Chorchori, Shukto, Dhokar Dalna, Tel Koi, Laal Murgi Jhol, Posto Bata Mangsho, Lancha, Rosogolla, Misti Doi, Bonde, Tomato Chutney, Plastic Chutney, and Papor Bhaja.
