Aukhoy Coomar Laha celebrated its 150 years of foundation in Kolkata recently. A press conference was organized where ten technicians were felicitated.

The press meet was attended by Debasish Kumar, Mayor In Coundil, Kolkata Municipal Corporation, Subhamoy Laha and Debayan Laha, descendants of the Aukhoy Coomar Laha family.

It is a common notion that Bengalis cannot be good at business. However this idea was proved wrong when Bengali businessman Aukhoy Coomar Laha inaugurated his paint shop on 1870 at Esplanade opposite to Tipu Sultan Mosque.

With the help of this 150^th year celebration, this is not just a celebration of Aukhoy Coomar Laha’s endeavour but also a way to recognize those people who are very eager to establish their business. Hence the technicians were felicitated on the occasion.
