The Retailers Association of India (RAI) organized the Kolkata Retail Summit (KRS) on the theme Breaking Barriers to Sustainable Growth.

A panel discussion included a dialogue on various aspects of the main theme, employees as important drivers of sustainable growth and what will drive retail in the coming years. The key aspects that were discussed included social impact, environmental consciousness, customer centricity, good people practices, technology adoption and financial discipline.

Some of the retail leaders who participated were Sagar Daryani- Wow! Momo, Manish Agarwal- Big Bazaar, Dalpat Jain-Manyavar, Anurag Poddar- Presto, Siddharth Pansari- Primarc Group and others.

There has been a positive growth in retail business in the East for quite some time now. Even if the rate is not so good in other parts of India, the eastern part of the country has been showing positive growth drastically.

The summit created an opportunity for retailers and others in the retail value chain to come together to drive business growth.
