Rituparna Sengupta will be seen in the role of Nandini in the upcoming Bengali film Parcel. The Kolkata Mail correspondent Priyanka Dutta caught up with the actress in an exclusive conversation where she shared her thoughts about working in the film. Excerpts..

Why did you accept the offer to work in Parcel?

Rituparna Sengupta- The name Parcel is very interesting. There is a curiosity, a sense of happiness when one gets a parcel. The name attracted me and I said yes to working in the film.

How was the experience of working with Saswata Chatterjee?

Rituparna Sengupta- He is a sound actor with whom I have worked in bits and pieces in many films. However the major works that I have done with him is in films like Rajkahini, Goodnight City and now Parcel. He is a great actor who has a fun and jovial nature. He keeps everyone on the sets in a peppy mood. He is like the lifeline of the set.

How was Indrasis Acharya as a director?

Rituparna Sengupta- I met him at a festival in Delhi. It is there that I came to know about his work. We interacted and he said he will be contacting me for a new and interesting project. He approached me with two stories but I found this more interesting. A parcel changes the life of an individual who gets it. The person may feel happy or may not be elated after getting it. Whatever may be the case, a parcel can do wonders. I liked the idea of this film and I immediately said I will do this film.

Have you ever received any anonymous parcels?

Rituparna Sengupta- Yes, I have received a lot of such parcels. I have received books, fruits, chocolates, flowers where no names were mentioned. I have received many such parcels in my entire life.

If you had to send parcels to Saswata Chatterjee and Indrasis Acharya, what will you send?

Rituparna Sengupta- I will send Apu da (Saswata) chocolates and good food. Indrasis is a movie buff. So I will send him a good cinema that he watch and enjoy.

How much expectation do you have from the film Parcel?

Rituparna Sengupta- The film is very different from the director’s last two films. The film has been well received at Kolkata International Film Festival and Indrasis got the Best Director award at the festival. So I think that there are elements in the film which will appeal to the people. The music by Joy Sarkar is also very interesting. I think there is so much tension in everyone’s life. But how a Parcel changes your life is what the film all about. The audience must watch it.
