“The Script For MCVN Thrilled Me”- Rani Mukherjee
The Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards saw Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji win the Best Actress title. Her heartbreaking portrayal in Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway has gained her enormous critical and commercial praise.
After receiving the prize, Rani said, “I believe MCVN is a significant film in terms of what Indians go through outside of our nation. I was astounded to learn that a woman had been mistreated and that her children had been removed from her when I first heard about this tale. This tale truly resonated with me as a mother, and I thought it ought to be shared with everyone. Hence I agreed to do the film”.
She went on, “When I read the script for this movie, I was excited. I only had one thought while I was filming. I had to give it everything I had to bring Sagarika’s tale to life on television, make it seem authentic, and portray it so that viewers would forget about me and instead see Devika Chatterjee in me. Therefore, I needed to play the part well. I’m glad the audience enjoyed it and showed so much love for MCVN. I am honored to have received this award and am truly appreciative. I am grateful for this distinction bestowed to me by the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival”.
This is the third award that Rani has bagged for MCVN after IFFM and Jagran Film Festival, held in 2023.
Rani took home the trophy for her role as a feisty mother who battled a nation to reclaim her children in the movie Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway. The movie was a huge success at the box office and restored confidence that, even in this post-pandemic environment, substantive cinema could draw audiences to theatres. Rani’s success on the big screen is still growing, and this esteemed award only serves to reaffirm her status as one of the greatest actors of all time.
Rani dazzled on the red carpet in a shimmering sheer black saree, looking stunningly beautiful. Superstar Shah Rukh Khan joined the stunning actress, and the images of King Khan and Bollywood Queen together went viral.
Congratulations.
