The most anticipated movie of 2025 is War 2, which is directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Yash Raj Films. The sixth movie in the legendary YRF Spy Universe franchise is produced by Aditya Chopra. Ayan reveals that he gave War 2’s plot his full attention because he wanted a conflict that was large enough to pit two Indian film icons—Hrithik Roshan and NTR.

“To carry on a beloved franchise like War and make your mark on it is a huge responsibility. I enjoyed the chance to pay homage to the first movie by directing War 2. There is no other way to enjoy joining such a massively successful franchise. It is necessary to take what has already been established and then take the audience members of the movie and these enormous national superstars on a novel journey that should leave them wanting more. I must admit that as a director, I threw myself into creating this emotion,” said Ayan.

He added, “War 2 has been meticulously planned to enhance the audience’s theatrical experience. The action set pieces, plot, and conflict that were required to mount the face-off between Hrithik Roshan and NTR took up the most time”.

Ayan describes War 2 as a movie that honors the power of Indian cinema by bringing Hrithik and NTR together for an unforgettable, heart-pounding cinematic experience.

“War 2 is the coming together of Indian cinema with these two huge actors joining forces. We spent every moment considering how to provide their fans and the audience with an experience of a lifetime while they were in the theaters because we knew the expectations this pairing would create in their minds,” said the director.

War 2 will release on the 14^th of August.
