The trailer of the National Award winning film Nagarkirtan was unveiled in the presence of director Kaushik Ganguly, Riddhi Sen, Ritwick Chakraborty, music composer Prabuddha Banerjee and others.

The story of the film focuses on the emotions of the third gender people in a realistic way. The film also shows how these people face the dilemma of having to undergo a completely different physical experience which they do not desire.

The main aim of the film, according to the director is to spread the message of Freedom of Love that goes beyond the gender rules.

Ritwick plays Madhu in the film. “The character that I play in the film is that of a flute player by passion and a food delivery boy by profession. Many people are telling that I look different in the film but that is how Madhu looks. The character is nothing new but the journey of the character definitely new” said the actor.

Riddhi Sen mentioned that this is essentially a love story. “I have observed my friend and mother to understand the nuances of women. I have also talked with transgender individuals so as to understand them well. Regional film industry does not have such time to do huge research. So whatever I could do in my little time, I have done that” said the actor.

The actor also praised the director and said that the script helped him a lo in portraying the character on screen.

The film is eyeing for release on 15^th February and is distributed by Surinder Films Pvt Ltd.
