Great news for the fans of the Sun Bangla serial Mangalmayee Maa Sitala. Eminent actress Dipanwita Rakshit will be seen in the role of Sitala. She will enact the role of the grown-up Maa Sitala.

The serial will take a 12-year leap. Sitala has grown up. Till now, the role of the young Maa Sitala was portrayed by Subhashree Chakraborty. Now the grown-up Maa Sitala will be portrayed by Dipanwita. She was last seen in the Star Jalsha serial Tunte.

There will be a new surprise in this Sun Bangla serial. The villagers are unaware that Maa Sitala has come to the village as a human being. The villagers conduct Shiva Puja. Sitala starts the puja of Mahamaya. The villagers protest against this. To appease the villagers, Sitala shows her powers. She saves a young kid from death and many more.

Speaking about the role, Dipanwita said “This is my first time I am doing a mythological character. I have always known Maa Sitala as a goddess. I was not aware of her different stories. I had to rely on the guidance of the director. I used to avoid these characters before. That was simply because I did not like getting decked up so much. To portray mythological characters, you need to dress more. I decided to do Maa Sitala’s character because she will be shown more as a human being. Hence I do not have to deck up more”.
