Director Srijit Mukherji graced the grand trailer launch of the upcoming Bengali film Torsha Ekti Nodir Naam.

Also gracing the occasion were music director Debojyoti Mishra, director of the film Krishnendu Sannigrahi, Piya Sengupta, and the cast and crew of the film.

The film’s story revolves around the river Torsha. It is an important river in North Bengal and passes through Coochbehar. The story focuses on the lives of the fishermen who live in a slum near the river. They get a big shock when they are told to vacate the slum for better rehabilitation. It is then that the daughter of the District Magistrate, named Torsha, comes to their rescue. What happens next?

Srijit Mukherji said, “Whenever the three words Ekti Nodir Naam are heard by a Bengali, they remember Titas. And now they will also remember Torsha through this film. I hope that this film will also make a mark in the hearts and minds of the audience, just like the other iconic film”.

The film’s cast consists of Sudip Mukherjee, Dipanwita Ghosh, Lama Arindam Halder, Krishnendu Chakraborty, Pooja Sarkar, and Kinkini Sengupta.

The child artists in the film include Kavya Bhaumik, Rudra Sarkar, Gitahri Chakraborty, Rudrajyoti Ghosh, and others.

The story of the film is by Pulak Kumar Das.

The music and background score are by Debojyoti Mishra. “Editor and background score composers watch any film the most. I have seen the film multiple times while composing the music. The film has a heart of its own, and that is the USP of the film. I am glad that Srijit has been called for the trailer launch event. I love him and I am proud of him. I have been working with him from his first film Autograph, and his growth as a filmmaker is worth noticing,” said Debojyoti Mishra.

The songs have been sung by Rupam Islam, Iman Chakraborty, and Anwesshaa Dutta Gupta.

The screenplay and dialogue have been written by Pulak Kumar Das, Krishnendu Sannigrahi, Akash Sarkar, and Agniv Sumana.

The film is presented by Jogen Chowdhury in association with Nirmalya Ghosh.

Torsha Ekti Nodir Naam is slated for release soon.
