Toyota Releases Its First Self-Charging Strong Hybrid-Electric SUV- Hyryder
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) unveiled its new urban cruiser Hyryder in the august presence of Chief Guest Firhad Hakim, Honorable Minister In-Charge, Department of Transport, Housing, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Govt of West Bengal, and other eminent guests.
Hyryder is the first self-charging strong hybrid-electric SUV and the first of its kind in the B SUV segment in India.
Since this is a self-charging Strong Hybrid Electric vehicle, Hyryder can run 40% of the distance and 60% of the time on electric or zero-emission mode.
The self-charging Strong Hybrid Electric powertrain reflects Toyota’s focus on green technology and achieving the goal of Carbon Neutrality.
For the first time, as part of Toyota’s global partnership with Suzuki, the model will be produced at TKM’s plant in Karnataka.
Hyryder boasts of LED project headlamp, twin LED daytime running lamp, side turn indicator, sporty rear skid plate, wide trapezoidal lower grille, dual-tone body color, unique crystal acrylic upper grille with chrome garnish, sleek and dynamic R17 alloy wheels and LED tail lamp.
The SUV boasts of upgraded safety features like 6 airbags, an Antilock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake-force, cruise control, TPMS, hill hold control, hill descent, and an all-wheel disc brake, rear 3point seatbelt, and others.
Hyryder is available in 7 Monotone and 4 dual-tone exterior colors.
