A Byomkesh Bakshi film releasing on Durga Puja is nothing new. And yes this time, Parambrata Chatterjee will be seen in the role of the iconic Bengali sleuth and Rudranil Ghosh will be seen in the role of Ajit. The film is titled Satyanweshi Byomkesh.

The trailer of this much awaited film was released in the presence of Parambrata Chatterjee, Rudranil Ghosh, Anjan Dutt, Gargi Roy Chowdhury, Suprabhat, Ayoshi Talukdar, director Sayantan Ghosal and music composer Neel Dutt.

Eminent Bengali author Sharadindu Bandopadhyay’s popular story Magno Mainak is the story on which the film is based.

Speaking at the occasion, Parambrata said “Byomkesh has many sides and with this film, the young, rebellious and political side of Byomkesh Bakshi will be revealed to the audience. I am glad that I have got the chance to portray such an iconic character”.

Ayoshi Talukdar plays the role of Hena in the film. The young actress who is a few films old thanked the director and the cast for helping her out in enacting out many scenes in the film.

Rudranil and Parambrata who has been friends for the last seventeen years were excited about the fact that they were cast as Byomkesh and Ajit in the film. Speaking at the event, Rudranil said “Byomkesh will be a hit film and the other films that will be releasing are no match for this film. The film will reveal a different aspect of the Bengali sleuth that has not been done before in any Bengali films”.

The screenplay of the film is by Anjan Dutt. The background score is composed by Neel Dutt. Sabarni Das is in charge of costume and production design for the movie.

The film will release on 2^nd October.
