The trailer of the upcoming Bengali film Mayar Jonjal trailer took place at the 46^th International Kolkata Book Fair.

Director Indranil Roychowdhury along with the cast members namely Ritwick Chakraborty, Chandreyee Ghosh, Bratya Basu, Kamalika Banerjee, Deepak Halder, Amit Saha and the Dop of the film Indranil Mukherjee graced the event.

The event was moderated by Actor Anindya Sengupta.

Mayar Jonjal explores the implications of trust and empathy in a world that has sadly run out of both. It is set in the metropolitan underbelly of Kolkata. In the movie, a small-time criminal in love with a sex prostitute crosses paths with a factory worker who has been laid off and is trying to prevent his wife from becoming a housekeeper.

The film is directed by Indranil Roychowdhury. It is a Bangladesh – India joint venture produced by Josim Ahmed and Flipbook.

Mayar Jonjal stars Ritwick Chakraborty, Aupee Karim, Chandreyee Ghosh, Sohel Mondol, Paran Bondopadhyay in lead roles.

The film won Best Screenplay Award at Dhaka International Film Festival 2022 and Jury Prize at Asiatica Film Festival, Rome 2020.

The film is eyeing for release soon.
