The trailer launch of the upcoming Bengali film Sweater took place in the august presence of director Shiladitya Moulik, Ishaa Saha, June Maliah, Sourav Das and others.

This is the first Bengali film of the director. The film revolves around knitting. The story is about Tuku, an under confident girl and how knitting changes her life.

“It was very important for everyone to be on the same page or else the film would not have been possible. There was no communication gap among the cast and crew of the film. Even if crisis happened, we dealt with it together. I was sceptical as to how people in Kolkata will treat me as I have worked mainly in Mumbai. However I have received great help from the team. Not only the juniors, but also the seniors also helped a lot” said the director.

Sourav Das mentioned that even before listening to the script, he found the director’s eagle styled tattoo on the throat very interesting. “He mentioned that he had not seen any of my work. That intrigued me and I was determined to prove my merit to the director. I have worked for the first time with June, Ishaa, Anuradha and even the director” said the actor.

Ishaa plays Tuku in the film. The actress knew how to knit a sweater and that helped a lot during the shoot of the film. “A girl is judged based on the merit on how much work she can do for her marriage. Tuku does not know much and is rejected. However one family asks whether she can knit a sweater. And that is how the journey of Tuku begins” said the actress.

The film is eyeing for release soon.
