Arijit Dutta came up with the idea to pay tribute to the maestro, Satyajit Ray on his 98th birth anniversary. The event was graced by Prosenjit Chatterjee, directors Kaushik Ganguly, Kamaleswar Mukherjee, Anindya Chatterjee along with actors Barun Chhanda, Alokananda Roy, journalist Ranjan Bandopadhyay among numerous fans and followers of Satyajit Ray.

The guests spoke about their inspiration and how Ray defined their cinematic journey, his influence in their creativity. Barun Chhanda, Alokananda Roy who had worked in Ray in his films spoke about their experiences with the legendary film maker.

Ranjan Bandopadhyay in his inimitable style shared anecdotes and Arjit Dutta spoke about Priya, Purnima Films and the association with Satyajit Ray. He recounted the Goopy Bagha story and how Purnima films stepped into the fray to produce the cult classic Goopy Gaine Bagha Baine.

The panel discussion was followed by a special screening of Goopy Gaine Bagha Baine.
