In keeping with its pledge to give everyone access to a variety of means of transportation, Uber introduced Uber Shikara, which allows visitors to reserve their boat trips on Dal Lake in advance using the Uber app. With the use of the limited-time product, travelers will be able to reserve their Shikara rides via the Uber app ahead of time, ensuring they are ready to take in Srinagar’s Dal Lake’s breathtaking scenery throughout the next hectic holiday season.

Uber will not impose any fees on Shikara rides reserved using its app as part of its effort to boost tourism in the scenic area. The whole sum will benefit the Shikara drivers, opening up more business prospects for J&K’s low-level tourism workers. Up to four passengers can travel in each Uber Shikara ride, which can be reserved for an hour. You can reserve an Uber Shikara ride up to 15 days in advance and 12 hours beforehand.

With Uber Reserve, Uber Shikara offers the ease of pre-booking, enabling passengers to arrange their rides ahead of time. With the help of this feature, visitors may fully appreciate Jammu & Kashmir’s natural beauty without having to worry about last-minute plans.

With a few taps on the Uber app, users can book their ride, relax, and allow Dal Lake’s serene waters to enhance the experience.

As the valley opens for the winter vacation season, Uber made history by introducing trip insurance for all Uber Shikara rides, a first for the famous rides on the Dal Lake. This ensures that every journey offers travelers total peace of mind while they take in Srinagar’s spectacular splendor.

How to book an Uber Shikara ride:

• Open the latest version of the Uber app
• Select start and end points as ‘Shikara Ghat No 16’ from the ‘Where to’ bar
• Select Uber Shikara
• Select time and date (available only from 10 am to 5 pm)
• Select Uber Shikara
• Confirm pick-up location (Ghat 16)
• Click “Book”
