Unvanquished: The Fight Beyond Justice Book Launch; 10 True Stories Of Women In Collection
“Unvanquished: The Fight Beyond Justice” tells ten true stories of women of various ages and backgrounds who have faced challenges.
The prejudice, misogyny, and exploitation that women have faced and struggled to overcome for generations is a common thread that runs through all of the stories in this collection.
The struggle isn’t over for them or for us. Even as individuals and organizations continue to work to empower women. the harsh reality of women’s status and struggles is unavoidable.
Dr. Jonaki Mukherjee’s book was recently released in the presence of eminent choreographer and social activist Alokananda Roy, Additional Special Superintendent, CID, WB, Santi Das, and noted psychiatrist Rima Mukherjee.
Oindrila Dutta moderated an excellent discussion session.
Jonaki is a committed teacher, counselor, and member of the West Bengal Women’s Commission.
She brings many years of experience in counseling and works tirelessly with real-life problems of women.
This is what distinguishes her book: the stories are true, and the narrator has journeyed with each of the women she profiles.
Many of these stories and their protagonists will seem familiar to readers because no one can be unaware of the widespread societal pressures, prejudices, and gender discrimination.
Jonaki’s sensitive recounting of the stories of the women with whom she has worked and stood by has resulted in an important document that will inform and inspire others, as well as serve as a modest but firm step toward improving women’s status and status in India.
According to Dr. Jonaki Mukherjee, “It feels great to have the book out in the world. I hope that the real-life stories in this book will contribute something positive to our society.”
A great book to add to your collection!!
