Urbanization & Environment Care Conference Organized By Indian Chamber Of Commerce
Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) organized a conference on Urbanization & Environment Care in the presence of the Mayor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation, Firhad Hakim, Minister of State for the Department of Finance, Health & Family Welfare Dept. & Land and Land Reforms Department, W.B Govt, Chandrima Bhattacharya along with the President, Indian Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Pradeep Sureka, Rajeev Singh, Director General Indian Chamber of Commerce, and Chairman of ICC National Expert Committee on Real Estate, Mr.Nakul Himatsingka.
Along with EV, the state government is focused on CNG to attain sustainable environmental goals. Firhad Hakim, Mayor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation said “Good governance is a pre-requisite for growth. If the state has to prosper, then the contribution of people is important. Electric vehicles are our future, leading to a safe and sustainable environment, and the State government is currently focusing on this. We also need to shift our focus away from fossil fuels and toward bio-fuels, given the rise in gasoline and diesel prices. This would result in a carbon-free environment while not obstructing urbanization. We’re also working hard to bring e-government to its pinnacle.”
He also added that the leather industry is fast expanding in Bantala. Such has been the expansion rate that there is now a shortage of space.
Minister of State for Department of Finance, Health & Family Welfare Dept. & Land and Land Reforms Department, W.B Govt, Smt. Chandrima Bhattacharya said,” Inclusive growth is important for development strategy. The Government is looking at various areas for making growth practical. For enabling the growth of governance, some of the areas we are focusing on are easy compliance, single window system, IT, and so on. Governance for growth has been our main motto. Investors are coming to Bengal due to this reason and on the other hand, West Bengal holds 14% of the MSME segment in India.”
The speakers highlighted the fact that real estate generated the second-highest employment. And Bengal will show the path to better governance.
