Usha Uthup’s autobiography Ullas Ki Naav was launched in the presence of the pop singer, Vikas Jha, Seema Sapru and others at the Russian Pavilion at 44th International Kolkata Book Fair.
The book gives a detailed look at the life of the pop singer and her journey as a singer.
When questioned about whether her applying Manjha to kite strings prepared her for the struggles in life, the pop singer said that it was true. “The Manjha is made from shredded glass and when you apply it, you cut your fingers. But you also realize that in order to face the difficulties in life, you need to be strong and face them head on” said Usha Uthup.
The singer mentioned how her different voice was always used for bad girls in the films and not for the heroines in the film. “I am glad that I have a different voice. I have never copied anyone in my life. And that I think have worked for me very much. I even have sang for Mithun Chakraborty” said Usha Uthup.
The singer added with a smile that she is a stage performer and still a night club performer.
