A visual teaser of Suman Maitra’s upcoming Bengali film Aami o Apu was released on the birth anniversary of legendary film maker Satyajit Ray. The teaser shows different locations of the village in which the film is set. The black and white scheme further accentuates the feel and there is an old world charm to the teaser that was released.

Incidentally Ray’s Pather Pachali is regarded among one of the classics in the world of cinema. The director of this film did not want any comparison to be drawn between the two films. This is actually a modern interpretation of Bibhutibhusan Bandopadhyay’s famous novel Pather Pachali.

The film has been shot keeping in mind the different seasons. The director mentioned that they shot the different seasons during the actual seasons and hence the film took about a year to be shot.

A boy named Ishan Rana has played the role of Apu in the film. Dugga’s character will be played by Prakriti Pujari.

Soumitra Ghosh, Ananda Choudhuri, Amrita Halder, Sushil Sikaria, Dhruba Debnath and others will be seen in important roles in the film.

The DOP of the film is Smriti.

Bappaditya Subhro has composed the music of the film.

Aami O Apu’s teaser looks promising. The audience will have to wait for the film to release to watch this film on the big screen.
