Voice-Controlled AI-Powered Ultrasound System Now In Kolkata
At its flagship clinic in Salt Lake, Kolkata, Nephro Care India Limited (NCIL) has made a groundbreaking move by launching a cutting-edge voice-controlled, AI-powered complete ultrasound system. By offering real-time scan assistance, the sophisticated USG machine Logiq Totus will increase operator productivity, improve diagnostic precision, and facilitate more exact operations.
The move is intended to revolutionize healthcare delivery, according to Dr. Pratim Sengupta, Founder and MD & CEO, of Nephro Care India. The AI-based algorithms will help analyze ultrasound images and help providers interpret abnormalities or anomalies that might otherwise be a little difficult to detect.
A variety of transducers, such as XDclear, which generates high-resolution images for head-to-toe applications across clinical specialties or care areas, are used by the sophisticated USG machine. Additionally, it uses cutting-edge technologies including Volume Navigation, Ultrasound-Guided Attenuation Parameter (UGAP), and 2D Shear Wave Elastography to handle clinically difficult cases.
When the smart hemodialysis machine is ready, it should reduce the cost of these devices from the present Rs 7.5-8 lakh to Rs 2 lakh, a reduction of about 70–75 percent.
NCIL has been working on several projects to increase the affordability and accessibility of healthcare for the general public. The company and the National Institute of Technology, Silchar are working together to create a prototype of an AI-enabled smart hemodialysis machine that can be remotely monitored. Since most of India’s hemodialysis equipment is now imported, the price is much higher. Domestic production of these devices can reduce costs, which will lower the cost of care for patients with severe renal failure.
To offer patients comprehensive care, NCIL, which successfully concluded its initial public offering (IPO) in July 2024, recently opened Vivacity Multispecialty Hospital, a 100-bed multispecialty facility in Madhyamgram, West Bengal. The multispecialty hospital has an advanced renal transplant unit in East India and provides treatment services in several specialties, including cardiology, medical oncology, gastrointestinal, gynecology, and many more.
