W20 Begins With Giving Direction To Women’s Power
The two-day 20 Inception meeting began in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. The meeting was inaugurated by Union Minister for Women & Child Development and Minority Affairs Smriti Zubin Irani.
The focus of the meeting was on providing guidance for “women’s power” in all spheres of life. The gathering featured 150 female delegates from G20 nations. The Union Minister noted during the opening session that the W20 may offer advice on how to apply best practices to increase women’s empowerment.
Amitabh Kant, the G20 Sherpa for the Indian Presidency, stated that for growth and increased prosperity, women-led development should be a significant priority of India’s Presidency. As a result, India has made women-led development a very vital aspect of the G20 Presidency. The key issues of this gathering, according to W20 President Dr. Sandhya Purecha, are gender equality, capital, and prestige in the development of women’s leadership.
All of the delegates, according to Dr. Purecha, have been split up into five groups to debate five priority topics. These organizations focus on women entrepreneurs, grassroots women’s leadership, closing the gender digital divide, education and skill development, and the role of women in combating climate change. According to Dr. Purecha, India’s G20 presidency would be a historic occasion because it will work to find workable global solutions for the benefit of everyone and therefore embody the spirit of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.”
Dr. Bhagwat Karad, Union Minister of State for Finance, Raosaheb Patil Danve, Federal Minister of State for Railways, and Atul Bachao, Minister for Cooperatives, Government of Maharashtra, also spoke at the ceremony. At the revered site of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, they all welcomed the delegates.
