The next original series on hoichoi, Parineeta, is directed by Aditi Roy and is based on the novel by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. It will debut as the second title in the streaming service’s Best of Bengal series. Despite numerous adaptations, the timeless classic’s charm remains undiminished. Hoichoi is pleased to introduce the new series, which offers a fresh viewpoint and bears witness to the novel’s lasting significance. 

In the recently released official teaser for “Parineeta,” which is now trending on YouTube, viewers can catch a look at Debchandrima Singha Roy and Gaurav Chakrabarty, who play Lalita and Shekhar, respectively. Through its production design, decorations, and costumes, the series masterfully captures the historical era while also depicting the chaos of the freedom movement, especially the Partition of Bengal. The creators’ dedication to historical authenticity and accuracy is demonstrated by strong imagery, which includes masses screaming “Vande Mataram” and others running for cover from disturbances. This romantic series, which premieres on August 15, tackles social themes that were common in pre-independence India.
