Web-series The Senapatis will be launched on 1^st February on Addatimes. Director Arnab Riingo Banerjee, Prriyam Chakraborty, Suvajit Kar, Joy Banerjee, Rajiv Mehra and others graced the press conference where the date of announcement was revealed.

The season 1 will show volume 1 of The Senapatis which will be between the years 1971-1975. The four chapters are the four episodes to be aired this season.

The story begins in the year 1971, when East Pakistan was set ablaze by the Pakistan army with the fury of genocide. However one refugee family escaped and came to West Bengal. In 1975, this family was considered as one of the notorious ganglords of the era.

The web-series has been shot in different parts of Kolkata which still has traces of the 1970’s period.

“Capturing the Bengal of 1970’s in 2019 was the biggest challenge. Now everything has changed and believing in my story and actually helping me to shoot in the way I wanted it to be shot is simply because of the help of the team at Addatimes. I am utterly grateful to them” said director Riingo Banerjee.

Prriyam will be seen as Churni Senapati in the web-series. “Getting to play such a character is a great opportunity for me. The biggest challenge while playing this character was that I had to act reserved many times. Prriyam would have acted differently. But Churni Senapati was a lady in the 1970’s and her reaction will be different. Her eyes spoke more and that was a huge challenge for me” said the actress.

Suvajit Kar praised the team at Addatimes and also Riingo Banerjee for considering him for the role.

From the raging reviews that the teaser got, The Senapatis will surely be one web-series to look forward to.
