The press conference to announce the launch of a weekly newspaper Saptahik Janamat was graced by Dibyendu Barua, Rahim Nabi, Hossain Mustafi, Shiuly Ramani Gomes, Payel Mukherjee, Asish Kumar Pal, editor of the paper Deep Chakraborty and other guests.

There are eight pages in the weekly newspaper. National and state politics, news about other states, cinema, theatre, music, dance, and sports are the different sections of the weekly newspaper.

Speaking at the event, Rahim Nabi said “This is a great thing that even during this ongoing pandemic, someone took the initiative to start a new weekly newspaper. Whatever fame I have achieved is due to the help and support I have got from the media”.

Actress Payel Mukherjee looked lovely in a black dress. Speaking at the event she said “It feels great to come to Kolkata press Club for the launch of a weekly newspaper. We need the media for spreading news happening all around us. Since I work in the entertainment industry, the launch of this new weekly newspaper is a boon for us. It will mean that more such news will be covered”.

The first issue of the weekly newspaper is already out.

The paper is priced at Rs 5.
