Star Jalsha announced that the blockbuster film Bagha Jatin will have its TV premiere on 23^rd June, Sunday at 1 pm.

A press conference was organized to announce this. It was graced by Dev, Sreeja Dutta, Sudipta Chakraborty, Rohaan Bhattacharjee, director Arun Roy and music composer Nilayan Chatterjee.

The film shows how Bagha Jatin went against the atrocities of the British. It also shows his profound love for his motherland.

Dev said “It was during the lockdown that Arun da said that when I look at you I find that you can play Bagha Jatin. This was said by some others too. But the moment I head this, I was afraid as to how to portray such a great man on screen, and how to show those times. It was a mammoth task and if I went wrong anywhere, the audience will chastise me”.

Dev was full of praises for the director. “We learned a lot from Arun da while shooting the film. He is among the few people in our industry who has the knowledge and vision to handle such projects. The level of his knowledge is amazing and that helped us a lot during the making of the film” said the actor-producer.

Sudipta Chakraborty said that she read the script to prepare for the role. She spent an entire day going through the script with the director. She analyzed it to understand the nuances of her character and that is how she completed the shoot of the film.

Rohaan said that it was during the shoot of Dance Dance Junior that Dev had told him that he will be cast in one of Dev’s upcoming films. “I don’t know what Dev da saw during my portrayal of Bhasan Bapi that he asked me to do the role of Chittapriya Ray Chaudhuri. I went to Arun da and then I was selected. I am a fan of Dev da and I got to act with him in a film. It was amazing for me. And to be a part of such a film was also an honor for me. Not much films on freedom fighters have been made in Bengal. And this was one such film that was made on a huge scale” added the actor.

Sreeja Dutta said “The last one year was magical for me. To be a part of such a prestigious project is a huge thing. I was just entering college after finishing school and suddenly I was part of such a film and that too opposite Dev da. I have been his fan for such a long time. To get the chance to act opposite him was a memorable experience”.
