Whispers Of The Mountains- Focus On Negative Sides Of Mining

Whispers Of The Mountains is set in the rugged Aravalli region. Tilak is a forty-year-old tea stall owner who struggles to survive after the death of his wife. His twelve-year-old son Ragu is speech-impaired and deeply sensitive. The son has a great bond with the mountains. Tilak sees mining as a way to economic freedom, but Ragu mourns the vanishing hills. What happens next?
The press conference for the film at the 31st KIFF was attended by the director. His last film was A Boy Who Dreamt of Electricity in 2023.
The film has been produced by Jigar Nagda. “I am from the Aravalli region. Whenever I go back to my village, I see that the hills are being cut and the weather is constantly changing. I was thinking about how to make a film on this issue. I talked with many people, and they were in favour of mining. I did not want to make an activist film. So I made this film to show what is happening in this region,” said the director.
The music has been composed by David Roberto.
The cast of the film consists of Harshant Sharma (Tilak) and Rajveer Rao (Ragu).
Director Jigar Nagda’s film Whispers Of The Mountains was part of the Competition On Indian Language Films.
The Mewari film is 90 minutes long.
