Bhumi Pednekar, an actor, advocate, and climate warrior, was inducted by the World Economic Forum into the Young Global Leaders (YGL) Community: The Class of 2024 for her significant contributions to the fight against climate change through her non-profit organizations, Climate Warrior & The Bhumi Foundation, and her large-scale sustainable business endeavors. It is already confirmed that Bhumi will represent India at the esteemed Davos 2025 World Economic Forum annual event.

Bhumi said, “I will be attending the YGL summit in Singapore which will happen this year. That excites me, and although though I have a busy filming schedule, I truly want to go to Davos. A Young Global Leader should also be successful in their respective industries. I have a lot going on this year between being an actor, starting my own business, and trying to make a difference. I sincerely hope I can go Davos and be present on any stage where my voice is needed”.

The World Economic Forum released its list of nearly 90 under 40 changemakers earlier this month. These individuals are speeding positive change and changing the future via their ground-breaking work in the areas of sustainability, technology, public health, and economic development.

The World Economic Forum said in a statement that the 2024 list features an exceptional collection of up-and-coming figures from education, business, civil society, politics, and the arts.

Apart from Bhumi, the list also includes Adwaita Nayar, CEO of Nykaa Fashion, Arjun Bhartia, Director at Jubilant Group, Priya Agarwal Hebbar, Non-Executive Director at Vedanta Limited, and Sharad Vivek Sagar, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Dexterity Global.

According to the World Economic Forum, for the last 20 years, the Forum of Young Global Leaders has led the way in developing a distinctive network of leaders committed to taking on the world’s most critical issues head-on.
