In a noteworthy accomplishment that highlights the innovative and high-achieving culture at Techno Main Salt Lake, a group of four students from the TMSL campus won the National Space Hackathon 2025, which was co-hosted by IIT Delhi and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

The winning team included Suman Patra (CSE-IoT 1st Year), Sankha Singha Mahapatra (ECE 2nd Year), Pabitra Nath (ECE 1st Year), and Arpan Pathak (CSE 3rd Year). Through two rigorous stages—an initial online qualifier and a grand finale at IIT Delhi, where their solution was presented to a distinguished jury of ISRO scientists and IIT faculty—these brilliant minds took on real-world space exploration challenges.

The technical inventiveness, viability, and potential use of the team’s solution in upcoming ISRO missions were commended. The team was honoured at IIT Delhi during the Global Space Exploration Conference (GLEX) 2025, a prestigious international gathering with world space leaders and experts, as a tribute to their inventiveness.

Deep insights into the future of space missions and exploration were provided by the event’s engaging Q&A session with the astronauts and first-hand encounters between students and space pioneers. In a display of student achievement and national pride, Mr. Sudeesh Balan from ISRO presented the Techno Main Salt Lake team with a Rs 10,000 cash prize on stage alongside the three astronauts.

Three internationally renowned astronauts, Mr. Angad Pratap (India), Mr. Hazzaa Al Mansoori (UAE), and Mr. Sirisha Bandla (USA, Virgin Galactic), attended the prize distribution ceremony held in the Seminar Hall of IIT Delhi.

In addition to being a personal victory for the students, this recognition demonstrates Techno Main Salt Lake’s dedication to developing the next generation of scientific and technological leaders. TMSL’s emphasis on interdisciplinary education, curriculum innovation, and practical exposure to opportunities both domestically and internationally continues to produce outstanding outcomes.
