The members of the Bhowanipur 75 Palli puja committee celebrated World Daughter’s Day by distributing clothes to kids of 250 Chhau Dancers at Charida Village in Purulia as part of their CSR initiative.

The theme for the Durga Puja in 2021 is “Manobik”. And in keeping in line with this theme, the Durga Puja committee came forward with this initiative.

Mr. Subir Das, Club Secretary said that they are dedicating the puja to kids and family members of Chhau artists in Purulia. They will be donating a major share of the subscription to them and making the premises available for them to perform and sell their goods. They have planned to donate clothes to kids of 250 Chhau Dancers on the occasion of World Daughter’s Day at Charida Village in Purulia and will be also giving new clothes to the family members of ‘Chhau’ dancers by supporting 50-odd families during Durga Puja. This initiative is taken keeping in mind the financial problems that many artists have to face during the ongoing pandemic. The puja committee was inspired by the works of the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

A humanitarian work indeed!!
