Wrap Up of Shooting of Bengali Short Film Oki Agari
The wrap up of the upcoming Bengali short film Oki Agari directed by Samik Roy Chowdhury took place recently in the presence of the lead cast of the film consisting of Mir and Devlina Kumar.
The word Oki Agari means get up and arise. This is frequently associated with the Japanese phrase Nanakorobi Yaoki which means seven times down, eight times up.
The film is set in the 90s. Mir plays the role of a lawyer and Devlina Kumar plays the role of his client.
Daichi Dutta, a junior lawyer is played by Mir. The lawyer lands up with a case where he has to fight for the custody of a child. What happens as a result of this case is what the film all about.
Mir while speaking about his character said that he plays a submissive lawyer. He is not very fashionable and very under confident.
Devlina Kumar was very ecstatic to have shared screen space with Mir for the second time in this short film. She had to play a slightly aged role to suit the needs of the script. Working under a tight schedule took a toll on her health. However due to the fantastic script, she enjoyed working in the film.
The film is produced under the banner of Creative World Entertainment. The creative producer of the film is Sarmishtha Ghosh. The music of the film is by Rupam Islam. There is an end title song which is a Japanese song.
The duration of the film is of fifteen minutes.
The film will be sent to various festivals before it is screened for the audience.
