Popular YouTuber and film critic Aritra Banerjee who runs the YouTube Channel Aritra’s Gyan turns director with the short film Writer’s Block.

The story is about a writer whose novel was a bestselling book once. Now he is experiencing writer’s block. Despite trying repeatedly, he cannot write anymore. He goes to his friend’s café and attempts to write but he is unsuccessful. A mysterious woman visits the café. Seeing her, the writer gets different plot ideas. Will he be able to overcome his writer’s block and finish his novel?

The story, screenplay, and dialogues are by Aritra Banerjee. “This is a chamber drama. With this film, I am paying tribute to the 70s-era Amitabh Bachchan films and Golden Days of Detective Fiction. This is the first time that an announcement teaser has been brought out for a short film. The teaser got a good response.

The film is produced by Ruptuhin Dutta.

The music has been composed by Amit Das.

Devtanu, Rimona Das, Sanwoy Bose, Diptadeep Mitra, and Aritra Banerjee will be seen in important roles in this short film.

Devtanu was involved with the making of the film from the first step. He loved the entire making process. “My audience has never seen me in a thriller movie before, and they will be surprised for sure,” said the actor.

Rimona said, “I have done a music video. So this was a different character for me to portray. I have enjoyed working in this film and am waiting for the reaction from the audience”.

The film is of twenty minutes.

The short film Writer’s Block will release on 15^th August on Aritra’s Gyan YouTube Channel.
